The city initially partnered with Underground Refuse Systems to add 50 containers near city buildings and downtown shops. Kissimmee officials expanded this partnership into residential neighborhoods starting with the Hamilton at Lakeside Apartments. Trash and recycling containers are installed under the surface with above-ground hatches providing easy disposal by users. These containers replace visually unappealing dumpsters while offering easy access by sanitation workers.
