London Borough of Hackney, GB looks for creative housing solutions with Self-Build Challenge

London Borough of Hackney, GB Self-Build Challenge

In Progress

The Self-Build Challenge seeks applications from residents earning less than £90,000 per year who are interested in building their first homes. Local applicants submit their ideas for innovative or eco-friendly designs on small parcels of council-owned land. Challenge rules allow applicants to self-build or use custom housing contractors approved by the council. The winning applicants receive help from the council in identifying outside funding to cover the project's costs.
