Electricity sent to schools, libraries, council offices, and housing produces no emissions at the point of origin. This shift eliminates 5,357 tons of carbon emissions per year as the borough aims for net-zero emissions by 2030. Borough officials will use the renewable energy contract as a launchpad to generating its own renewable energy.
