London Borough of Southwark, GB completes Laptops for Learning campaign to reduce digital poverty

London Borough of Southwark, GB Laptops for Learning

Complete

A local survey of schools found 2,500 students who lacked the Internet or computer access necessary to complete their work. Borough leaders matched funds raised by the London South Teaching School Alliance (LSTSA) for laptop purchases. LSTSA sought £150,000 from donors to serve as many students as possible. Laptops for Learning collected lightly used laptops from businesses with refurbishing services donated by computer technicians.
