The city of Mechelen created a digital wallet mobile app to manage the local shopping voucher program. The vouchers can be exchanged at participating local shops, catering establishments, and organizations. Residents can purchase the Mechelen voucher online, at the UIT in Mechelen leisure center, or via the the new Mechelenbon mobile app. The digital wallet on the mobile app allows users to track their vouchers, pay by scanning their smartphone, and review a map of participating businesses.
