Mitchell, VIC Composting Subsidy Program Landfill Demands

In Progress

Residents interested in composting or worm farming can purchase subsidized supplies at participating garden stores. An online form with proof of purchase has to be submitted within one week for reimbursement. Mitchell Shire offers a 50% rebate on qualifying supplies up to $30 for compost bins and $50 for worm farms. Council officials developed the pilot to divert approximately 30% of household waste from landfills.
