Northern Beaches, NSW promotes sustainable business practices with Swap for Good initiative

Northern Beaches, NSW Swap for Good Sustainable Business

Complete

Council officials kicked off Swap for Good with a Sustainable Solutions Expo. A local business owner curious about how they can reduce single-use plastic consumption fills out the council's survey. Waste educators work with participants to find sustainable suppliers and identify their greatest sources of plastic waste. The program results in creative solutions like mug libraries and contactless dispensing. Northern Beaches maintains a goal of diverting 85% of waste from landfills by 2040.
