Orange, NSW gradually incorporates water consumers into its Smart Metering Program

Orange, NSW Smart Metering Program Water Consumers

Complete

The Smart Metering Program aims to reduce the 10% of water reserves lost to leaks and overuse. City officials recruited 250 water customers who account for 20% of all consumption for an initial smart meter pilot. The trial's success led to the inclusion of smart meters in new construction and replacement requests by property owners. Meter recipients access the MyH20 website to monitor their daily water consumption and set alerts for usage anomalies.
