Perth, WA improves accessibility of public transit information with smart display pilot

Perth, WA Smart Display Public Transit Pilot Accessibility

In Progress

Six transit stops on St. Georges Terrace feature digital InfoCubes with real-time arrival information. GPS data from Public Transit Authority buses are sent into the displays on 15-second cycles. Commuters with visual impairments activate buttons with Braille signage for audio updates. Transit officials also use the InfoCubes for announcements of transit delays and route changes. Seven InfoCubes along Central Area Transit routes will be added to the pilot in 2022.
