Pittsburgh, PA Acclerated Permit Plan Reviews Pilot

In Progress

The pilot provides an expedited timeline for reviews of Commercial Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression permits. Applicants pay administrative fees equal to 1% of construction value for five-day reviews rather than the standard 30-day timeline. The fee covers the initial application review as well as a follow-up review in case of revisions or amendments. City officials are evaluating how the process impacts applicant satisfaction and building safety prior to broader adoption.
