Plymouth City Council, GB Natural Grid Youth Training Park

Plymouth Natural Grid is an 18-month project to rewild and restore 12 green sites covering 390 hectares. A new urban ranger team works with apprentices aged 18 to 24 on biodiversity projects. Each cohort spends six months learning skills useful in future careers like forest management and habitat maintenance. Council officials anticipate at least 1,000 participating in nature engagement weeks at restored locations.
