Six college students from Aotea College and Porirua College were selected for temporary placements in city departments. The selection process included applications and interviews similar to what graduates face when they enter the job market. Each student was assigned to a department for one day of work per week over the 10-week pilot. Participants received guidance from experienced mentors, learned about public sector careers, and added work experiences to their resumes.
