In 2018, the County of San Diego's Planning and Development Services automated their Code Compliance Citation program. This project included the automation of fee invoicing, data entry and report generation for each violation citation which is more than 1,000 citations a year.

Code Compliance strives to improve response times, say officers - Ramona Sentinel

San Diego County Code Compliance officers explained various strategies for improving their response to complaints during a recent meeting of the Ramona Design Review Board.

Project Succeeded

Automating the citation process has reduced staff time and cost, eliminated manual data entry errors, and improved financial management of citations. Citation fees are now invoiced in real time and there are no delays in transfer of information and processing. In less than a year, the program has already saved $4,000.
