San Diego County, CA ShakeReadySD Early Earthquake Warnings
Complete
ShakeReadySD was incorporated into the existing SD Emergency app following a collaboration with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Seismic activity recorded by the agency's 770 underground sensors triggers alerts to app users. The criteria for activating ShakeReadySD include magnitudes of 4.5 or higher and shaking intensities of 3 or higher. The long-term goal of ShakeReadySD is to improve earthquake safety by alerting residents ahead of seismic waves.
