Sunshine Coast, QLD Woombye Data Driven Decision Making

In Progress

The DDDM pilot tracks real-time vehicle and pedestrian traffic using 10 streetlight-mounted sensors. Four ambient temperature sensors and a thermal imaging camera layer environmental factors on top of traffic patterns. Sunshine Coast also added a water meter sensor to measure water consumed at public facilities. Council officials use DDDM data from Woombye to inform project planning ranging from traffic light patterns to new green spaces.
