Residents aged 10 to 17 years old submitted projects through a dedicated portal. Proposed projects needed to serve the community for at least three years and be achievable by public works personnel. Every resident under the age of 18 could vote for their favorite project over a month of virtual voting. Thetford Mines allocated up to $25,000 for the winning project in an effort to involve young residents in city governance.
