Greater Manchester Combined Authority, GB funds Unbroken VR training for domestic violence help
VR developer Mother Mountain Productions contracted with the authority for Unbroken's development. Unbroken is divided into two tracks - Insight and Flourish - for council officials and non-profit services, respectively. Insight's immersive experiences of coercive control based on interviews with 15 survivors improve staff awareness. Flourish provides tools like life coaching and meditations for different stages of organizational assistance.

Suffolk County Council, GB develops virtual reality application for residents with dementia
Suffolk County Council approved a contract with Spark for a VR application dedicated to dementia care. The Digital Care Team will turn ideas from care providers and the community into engaging virtual activities. A prototype of the app will be tested in at-home and care home settings with feedback used for further development. This project uses £80,000 from the Suffolk 2020 Fund and complements existing dementia care tools like AV theme rooms.

South Dublin County Council, IE AWS Think Big Space stimulates STEM learning among community members
The Tallaght-based facility is the first of its kind in Europe and builds on South Dublin's relationship with AWS. Students and teachers visit AWS Think Big Space for free workshops on virtual reality and robotics. Miami Gardens collaborated with CEEK on a virtual representation of the city. User avatars explore Virtual City locations like Hard Rock Stadium and Florida Memorial University without leaving home. The CEEK VR app supports easy navigation of virtual Miami Gardens on VR headsets, mobile devices, and tablets. Project leaders plan virtual events and access to digital services for expanded Virtual City functionality.

Cornwall Council, GB brings Newquay Futures development project to life with a VR experience
The Newquay Futures project proposes active travel infrastructure and new community spaces for the coastal town. Cornwall Council and Digital Urban incorporated these proposals into a virtual reality version of Newquay. Local officials and Round Midnight started with a virtual reality training pilot across 31 schools. The VR program placed 1,395 students into a simulated situation with multiple potential outcomes. Participants discussed the roots of violent behavior and smart decision-making over a 12-week curriculum. Virtual_Decisions was expanded to all schools with Year 5 through 8 students as Greater Manchester seeks reductions in youth violence.

The Municipality of Härnösand will be the first in Norrland to build a training center based entirely on virtual reality. The municipality's Learning Center is partnering with Technichus Science Center to develop this VR studio learning environment. The Lake County Sheriff's Department partnered with VirTra to install a virtual reality simulator for police training. Bucks County is utilizing virtual reality simulations to provide police officers with crisis intervention training. Police officers enroll in a 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program designed to help participants better understand mental health crises that residents may experience from their perspective. Participants use HTC Vive VR goggles to engage in realistic scenario-based learning in order to improve their responses when working with people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Lakeland, FL signed a 10-year contract with Axon to supply officers with body cameras and new tech
The city of Lakeland signed a 10-year contract with Axon Enterprises Inc. to acquire body camera solutions and other technological equipment for the Lakeland Police Department (LPD). The city negotiated a flat rate of $938,000 per year in exchange for 250 body cameras, 250 new tasers, 165 new in-car video systems, and 10 virtual reality training sets. The LPD will also be trained in a new software that allows them to accept videos from private home alarm system and upload them as evidence.

The Apex Officer Training Simulator allows trainers to give presentations, conduct interactive testing, and provide immersive scenario-based exercises with detailed debriefing. The virtual training simulator was designed to increase an officer's skills and confidence in a safe but challenging environment through highly interactive scenario-based exercises.

InnovatAR's Yondar provides AR experiences of places like Watford City and Tobacco Gardens. The mobile-friendly website shows 360-degree views for users planning trips to McKenzie County. InnovatAR built scavenger hunts into destination pages that award points for each visited beacon redeemable for free gifts from the Visitor Center.
