Fifteen Vivacity sensors are installed in five towns for a five-year monitoring period. Each sensor gathers anonymized data on traffic patterns and concentrations. Council officials use the Vivacity dashboard for comparisons of real-time data with historical baselines. The extended collection period allows Dorset Council to identify the impacts of seasonal traffic and public projects on roadways. This data also shape active travel infrastructure plans for the region.
