The City of Porvoo launched a remote visit program for its home care service. The program involves using videophones to conduct remote home care visits which complement existing home care operations. Customers receive a loan for the videophone along with any necessary training to operate the device. Remote visits are primarily used to remind patients to take their medications, eat meals, measure their blood sugar, etc. The videophone will also allow customers to communicate with relatives.
