Madrid, MD MIL Summer Camp trains local innovators and entrepreneurs on artificial intelligence
The city-run Madrid Innovation Lab (MIL) offers the one-month camp at no cost for all residents. Daily workshops are geared toward university students and business owners interested in real-world AI applications. Weekly visits to the Accenture Digital Hub dig deeper into industrial uses of machine learning and other AI principles. MBIT School staffers host training sessions on digital skills and innovation throughout the camp.

Greater Geelong, VIC undertakes food organics collection pilot ahead of citywide adoption
Greater Geelong selected 1,500 households in the town of Lara for the one-year pilot. Participating homes received orange curbside bins, kitchen caddies, and compostable bags for eco-friendly disposal. Food waste is gathered with other bins during the regularly scheduled weekly collection and processed in two composting units. Council surveys and workshops will determine how the pilot can be applied to neighboring communities starting in 2023.
