OnBoard publishes the current compositions of San Diego's 46 boards and commissions. The main page offers a search bar above an alphabetized list of bodies with color-coded statuses for active, expired, and vacant board seats. Selecting a specific seat shows the current or past member, term lengths, and methods of selection. OnBoard is an easy-to-edit tool for city staffers who update board data and accept online applications for vacancies.

The City of Wichita is planning to develop a Sustainability Advisory Board in response to pressure from a large grassroots movement demanding that the city take action on climate change. Activists want the board to be a diverse, citizen-led group that will act quickly to develop a long-term sustainability plan. Over the next two months, city staff will draw up plans for what the board will look like and what its goals are before it is presented to the City Council for approval.

PrimeGov users add their feedback on agenda items for upcoming meetings without creating accounts. Clicking the Add Comment button reveals an open-ended comment box with For, Against, and No Vote buttons. Committee members receive every comment in PrimeGov prior to the next meeting. The system ties agenda items to the appropriate sections of meeting videos for easy public access. City officials can create, update, and annotate agendas from a single platform.

Boulder, CO responds to COVID-19 outbreak with online Chats with Council
Boulder scheduled four Chats with Council to deal with COVID-19 topics like small business assistance and mental health. Each online session was led by a city council member and featured a guest presenter. The lead council member took questions from city residents for presenters by phone or in-session chat. City staffers were available before each meeting on Zoom to assist with technical issues.
