The Municipality of Karlstad created the "Win a Job" program which provides select full-time students at Karlstad Municipality with the resources necessary to complete projects that benefit the community. Award recipients are chosen by a jury of municipal Human Resource managers and granted a fixed-term employment contract for 100 hours. The salary is calculated on the basis of a monthly salary of SEK 22,500 and is paid when the project is implemented.

The City of Charleroi partnered with the Maison de la Participation et des Associations to launch the "Citizen Initiatives" program to support local initiatives with grants. The program requests project proposals from neighborhood committees, de facto associations, or non-profit organizations that positively impact the quality of life in local neighborhoods and promote social cohesion. The maximum amount of the grant allocated per project ranges from €2,500 to €10,000 depending on the group.

The Municipality of Waalwijk created an intake table program which offers residents who are interested in taking an initiative a free 30-minute consultation with experts. Participants receive insights into the possible opportunities, obstacles, and feasibility of their plans. The intake table program was designed specifically for the early stages of planning such as during the drafting of an application or an environmental permit.

Greve, DK launched a one-year pilot in which residents could submit proposals to the Council
The Municipality of Greve's City Council launched a one-year citizen proposal pilot scheme. During the pilot, citizens were given the opportunity to create proposals for the Council to discuss. Eligibility requirements included each proposal had to receive at least 750 votes from other residents, must be relevant to the municipality, and could not contain any sensitive personal information. Each proposal was submitted online and expired after 2 months of voting.
