The city of Horn partnered with the Kunsthaus Horn event venue to create the “360° Horn” website for visitors to experience the city in virtual reality and promote tourism. The 360° Horn website consists of a large number of high-quality images with a 360° viewing angle which allows the user to experience the city virtually via computer, smartphone, or VR glasses.

Wellington City Council uses digital twin to engage residents and coordinate climate change policy
The City of Wellington has developed a "digital twin" that combines land, financial, community, and infrastructure data in a virtual map of the city. The Council will scale this digital twin and use it as a tool to engage residents in climate policy and coordinate community action to adapt to climate change. Wellington is one of 50 Champion Cities selected as a finalist in the 2021 Global Mayors Challenge which identifies the most ambitious ideas developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rotterdam, ZH partnered with Bentley System to create a digital twin and improve urban planning
The city of Rotterdam partnered with Bentley Systems to create a digital twin using existing city maps, 3D data from LiDAR, blueprints, and real-time sensors. The city is combining the predictive power of big data analysis and artificial intelligence to improve its urban planning process. The digital twin allows the city to use a new range of applications such as energy consumption analysis and asset management of subsurface infrastructure to optimize areas like mobility and healthcare systems.

Pointe-Claire, QC conducted a 3D georeferenced survey to improve infrastructure planning
The City of Pointe-Claire conducted a 3D georeferenced survey to improve infrastructure planning. The project involved capturing and digitizing 200 kilometers of the local road network in order to establish a foundation of information for land use consultations. The City deployed a self-driving Jakarto vehicle equipped with an HD mapping camera to survey distinctive landmarks at checkpoints throughout the region.

Novi, MI opened the "iCube Makerspace" to enhance resident innovation at its public library
The City of Novi Michigan has added the iCube Makerspace to its library, designed for creativity and exploration. This do-it-yourself Makerspace enables up to 13 users at once to expand their previously conceived technological capacities with the Makerspace's innovative equipment. The equipment includes 3D printers, laser engraving equipment, a woodcutter, photo editing and scanning equipment and conversion equipment.

Occoquan, VA sponsored its first "virtual 5k" as a fundraiser for local businesses during COVID-19
The Town of Occoquan hosted a "virtual 5k" race which allowed participants to complete the distance anywhere even inside their own home. Participants simply needed to upload their activity to a link supplied after registration. The entry fee was $25 and each participant received an event t-shirt. All of the proceeds were donated to local organizations to be used for purchasing gift certificates from local businesses. Participants were also encouraged to make a purchase from a local business.
