Aarhus, DK and local organizations collaborate on support pilot for struggling Greenlandic residents
Aarhus, DK Local Non-Profits Support Greenlandic Residents
In Progress
Municipal officials received DKK 8.1 million from the Danish government for the pilot. Project partners et Grønlandske Hus Aarhus, Reden Aarhus, and Kirkens Korshær provide supportive shelter for vulnerable Greenlandic people. Support staffers are trained in Greenlandic culture to lower the typical language and cultural barriers to social integration. Trauma, substance abuse, and volunteer programs will also be offered through the pilot's conclusion in December 2024.
