Avondale, AZ and Goodyear improve the responsiveness of public transit with WeRide on-demand service
Local and county officials introduced the WeRide pilot to address inefficiencies in current transit offerings. Residents request rides aboard five-seat, accessible vans Monday through Friday via the WeRide mobile app. Fixed pick-up and drop-off locations were selected so that commuters don't need to walk more than 10 minutes as part of their trips. WeRide offered free trips during its first month followed by a $2 fare per ride.
