The City of Brasilia purchased six new drones for $622,000 (BRL) to reinforce Fire Department operations. The drones are equipped with thermal cameras, searchlights, magnifying zoom lenses, and speakers for diverse situations. The Fire Department of the Federal District is using the unmanned drones to fight forest fires, rescue victims, and train soldiers. The drones also help combat dengue fever by identifying locations of possible outbreaks such as abandoned pools.
