Brighton & Hove City Council, GB becomes first city in the United Kingdom with public PPE recycling
Brighton & Hove City Council, GB Public PPE Recycling
The council partnered with ReWorked on bin installations outside of destinations like Komedia and SEA LIFE Brighton. Visitors dispose of face masks, shields, gloves, and other protective gear using the bins. Reworked collects materials for processing into plastic boards, planters, and other products. This initiative makes PPE disposal convenient for residents and tourists and contributes to a sustainable economy.
