Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, GB recovers from pandemic with Neighbourhood Pitch events
This initiative advances Bury's Let's Do It! Strategy, which seeks post-pandemic improvements in seven areas including quality of life and digital services. The Neighbourhood Pitch sought project ideas from residents in five areas of the borough. Finalists made virtual pitches to fellow community members prior to online voting. Each resident could vote for up to five projects in their neighbourhood. The council offered up to £5,000 for each approved project.

The council partnered with ANS on an app that manages requests for service during the COVID-19 outbreak. At-risk residents reach out to the council's customer service team. Representatives use the Triage App to prioritize deliveries and services through local hubs. Hub managers assign tasks to local volunteers on the app. Council personnel and ANS built the app on the Microsoft Power BI platform for enhanced analysis of resident needs.

Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, GB asked for resident feedback with Safe Streets Bury map
Safe Streets Bury was an interactive map with a comment feature open to area residents. Participants marked sidewalks, trails, and streets that require updates or repairs. Each mark on the map listed the problem and suggested solutions. Fellow residents liked and shared their favorite suggestions. Council officials will use results from Safe Streets Bury to ensure physical distancing requirements while improving cycling and pedestrian experiences.
