Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, GB continues shift to eco-friendly vehicles with biofuel pilot

Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, GB Biofuel Vehicle Pilot

In Progress

A council van and a waste collection truck use biofuels during the pilot. The Bradley Fold depot hosts a biofuel tank for easy refueling. Council officials are using data from the trial for fleetwide use of biofuels that could cut emissions by 90%. The pilot is part of a £10 million initiative introducing low-emission vehicles to council operations. Bury also acquired 19 Rotopress waste collection vehicles with large capacities under this initiative.
