Caerphilly County Borough Council, GB LED streetlights

In Progress

Caerphilly County Borough Council is converting its 27,300 street lanterns to LED and implementing partial night lighting. Converting to an entirely LED network will cost the Council approximately £4.2 million but is projected to save over £900,00 and reduce 2,836 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The partial night lighting is active between midnight and 5:30 in the morning with reassurances from the local police that crime rates do not increase as a result despite public concerns.
