Cambridge City Council, GB mixes technology with resident engagement for Canopy Project

Cambridge City Council, GB Canopy Project Technology

In Progress

Cambridge's entry in the Nature Smart Cities across the 2 Seas initiative seeks to increase tree canopy by 2%. The Canopy Project has distributed 1,500 trees in targeted neighborhoods. Arborists work with interested households to evaluate local air quality using the i-Tree Eco app. Property owners can enter tree measurements into Treezilla for carbon sequestration data. Printable tags use these results to tout the benefits of trees to neighbors and passersby.
