Cambridgeshire County Council, GB pilots AI-powered traffic sensors at East Road in Cambridge

Cambridgeshire County Council, GB AI Traffic Sensors

In Progress

The county's traffic team and the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) installed Starling Technologies detectors for the trial. The detector's cameras discern travel paths and speeds through intersections by different modes of transportation. Traffic lights switch based on real-time determinations about road and sidewalk congestion once fully implemented. County officials will evaluate the potential impacts of the technology on traffic flow for cyclists and large groups of pedestrians.
