Canmore, AB launched the B2B Voucher program to help businesses relaunch with professional services
The Town of Canmore partnered with Community Futures Centre West to launch the Business 2 Business (B2B) Voucher program. The B2B Voucher program connects local business owners with professional services and provides financial aid during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible businesses can request up to $2,000 in funding for approved professional services in order to successfully relaunch and build resiliency.

Canmore, AB launched the SMARTstart entrepreneurial training program for local business owners
The Town of Canmore partnered with the Bow Valley Chamber of Commerce to launch the SMARTstart entrepreneurial training program to facilitate economic recovery from COVID-19. The 8-month business training program is designed for local small business owners in their first three years of operating. Participants access online training modules via GoForth Institute, attend seminars delivered by local experts, and receive mentorship from experienced local business owners.

Canmore, AB reduces food waste sent to the landfill with Food Waste Collection Pilot
The town distributed dedicated food waste bins and user's guides to 2,000 households. Participants bring their bins to five collection sites throughout Canmore. Collected food waste is sent to a composting facility that produces fertilizer and soil conditioner. The Food Waste Collection Pilot diverts 800 kilograms of food waste per day from the landfill. Canmore plans to expand this pilot into schools and businesses following an expansion of its waste management center.
