City of Tshwane, GP makeshift homeless shelter built for lockdowns failed due to poor conditions
The City of Tshwane created a makeshift homeless shelter at the Caledonian Stadium during the COVID-19 lockdown. City police officers relocated over 2,000 homeless people to the stadium. Approximately 200 homeless people escaped the temporary shelter due to poor conditions at the site. In response, the City transformed the stadium into a screening centre and relocated the remaining individuals to new temporary shelters.

The City of Tshwane developed e-Tshwane a secure free online service that allows residents and local businesses to interact with officials and access services electronically. Registered users can upload meter readings, pay traffic fines, submit questions, apply for services, view bank statements, and make payments for accounts from home. This project was designed to make interactions with the City simpler and more efficient as part of a larger strategy to improve customer service in Tshwane.

City of Tshwane, GP partnered with Ulwembu Business Services to provide public Wi-Fi to residents
The City of Tshwane partnered with Ulwembu Business Services to provide public Wi-Fi to residents. This project includes 783 free internet zones making it the largest Wi-Fi network in Africa. Residents can use the TshWi-Fi mobile app to locate the internet zone closest to them, make free phone calls, use free chat services, stream select movies, and watch local television content. The goal of the project is to provide full access to Wi-Fi throughout Tshwane within three years.
