Cork County Council, IE builds digital hubs for rural communities with growing remote workforces

Cork County Council, IE Rural Digital Hubs

The council approved the creation of 22 digital hubs located in small towns throughout the county. Each hub will feature workspaces and Internet connections to help rural residents with remote work. Project partner Abodoo uses its Geonostics platform to map locations with high concentrations of remote workers, shared office spaces, and professional meet-ups. Cork County Council appointed a rural digital hub innovation officer to seek additional funding and develop the project.
