Derry City & Strabane District Council launched a new "YOUth Making it Happen" initiative to encourage youth involvement in empowering and supporting the local community. The initiative involved inviting young people from across eight community planning areas to a special participatory budgeting process. The youth group voted to support projects of up to £1,000 from a £2,500 pot for each of the eight areas.
