Council officials introduced the Recycling Information Assistant - RIA- during the 2022 European Week for Waste Reduction. Residents can access the chatbot through the council's recycling website. RIA answers most frequently asked questions about bin collections, recycling centers, and commercial disposal. Users can also enter words or phrases for AI-supported responses on additional topics. The chatbot was developed in collaboration with the University of Galway.
