Eindhoven, NB collaborates with Het Lux Lab on smart light technology pilot in city center
Het Lux Lab produced two types of smart streetlights for the pilot using a 3D printing process. The single-unit light on Stratumseind is affixed to an existing pole and a three-unit light is suspended by cables over Demer. Each light connects to a centralized system for real-time control over brightness and color. Eindhoven will determine how to best integrate units into Stratumseind's 2023 redevelopment based on pilot results.

Eindhoven, NB introduces Pressure Gauge map for city center visitors concerned about crowds
The Pressure Gauge categorizes 25 city center streets in one of four colors based on real-time foot traffic data. Map uses are encouraged to visit during green periods of relative quiet and limit visits during yellow, orange, and red periods. Mobile phone users who allow GPS tracking supply the data for updates every 15 minutes. Local officials pursued this project to improve compliance with social distancing measures while gathering traffic data.
