Elmhurst, IL Aclara Advanced Water Meter Technology

Complete

The city replaced 15,000 standard meters with a sensor network that communicates hourly to the water department. This metering infrastructure provides accurate data to service representatives and residents through a customer portal. Aclara's ZoneScan acoustic leak detection programming identifies water main flaws for further evaluation. Elmhurst combines the Aclara infrastructure with regular maintenance work to map system health across 188 miles of pipes.
