Forrest City, AR breaks ground on solar plants to power all of the city's operations
City officials and Scenic Hill Solar developed three solar plants powered by 7,000 panels. The plants replaced coal-powered electricity for Forrest City's buildings and daily operations. The 3.46-megawatt facilities create an estimated 5.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Forrest City also moves toward carbon neutrality by eliminating 115,952 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
