City officials and Scenic Hill Solar developed three solar plants powered by 7,000 panels. The plants replaced coal-powered electricity for Forrest City's buildings and daily operations. The 3.46-megawatt facilities create an estimated 5.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Forrest City also moves toward carbon neutrality by eliminating 115,952 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
