City-owned VGF added rooftop foliage to two shelters that require minimal watering and maintenance. A one-year pilot of moss-and-plant coverage for shelter interior and exterior walls evaluates impacts on air quality and temperature. Commuters also find digital screens with real-time schedules, connections, and nearby micro-mobility options. Transit officials plan similar upgrades to all shelters along with potential use of rooftop solar panels.
