An EasyMile autonomous shuttle operates on a 2.4-kilometer route centered on Main Beach. The six-passenger vehicle travels up to 18 kilometers per hour and serves seven stops. Commuters can ride the Smart Shuttle for free every day from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm through December 2022. Safety measures include roadside signage indicating the pilot area and an onboard operator. Gold Coast and the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) will compare pilot results with previous RACQ trials.

Gold Coast, QLD introduces mobile CCTV unit as part of citywide response to reckless driving
Gold Coast found that 45% of public requests for CCTV coverage were related to reckless driving or hooning.
