Macedon Ranges, VIC Healthy Landscapes for Healthy Livestock
Local farmers and land managers receive free on-farm advice on regenerative agricultural practices. A short course on holistic grazing management centers attention on the health of the soil, water, and livestock. Additional webinars and workshops provide context for the farmer's role in supporting regional biodiversity. Macedon Ranges worked with Greater Bendigo and Hepburn councils to support 875 participants during the program's first year.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s ‘Healthy Landscapes for Healthy Livestock’ project is the proud winner of the Premiers Choice Regional Recognition Award presented at the 2021 Premier’s Sustainability Awards last night.
Project Succeeded
Project leaders found that 100% of 110 survey respondents changed their land management practices based on program advice. The program won the Premier's Regional Recognition Award at the 2021 Premier’s Sustainability Awards. Participating councils approved a two-year extension of the program through 2024.
