Hartford, CT Bike Boulevards Low-Traffic Streets
Hartford received funding from Degree and Blue Zones to create Connecticut's first bike boulevards. City officials are working with community members to produce boulevards on five low-traffic streets. These boulevards use one-sided street parking and reduced speed limits to encourage bike usage without sacrificing vehicle access. City planners host walking audits of selected streets with residents to generate project feedback.

Hartford is considering turning five residential streets into what is calling "bicycle boulevards."
Made to Move - Bike Boulevards – City of Hartford
In 2019, Hartford was named a winner of the Made to Move Grant Program in partnership with Blue Zones. The Planning Division will create the state's first bike boulevards, which will provide safe, low-speed facilities comfortable for riders of all ages and abilities.
