The county's district attorney recruited domestic violence victims to participate in the first-in-the-nation VIN pilot. Participants push a button in the app when they feel threatened. The app streams live video and the phone's location to local police for immediate response. Recorded audio and video preserve evidence for police investigations and court hearings. VIN users can message their designated safety network and find safe locations through the app.
