Hunter's Hill, NSW turns The YARN library into a demonstration of the circular economy
A wall of drawers in The YARN allow residents to drop off items that would otherwise go to the landfill. Clothing, mobile phones, batteries, and household plastics are collected by the Centre for Sustainability Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) Centre. Items are refurbished, disassembled for repurposing, or sent to regional recycling partners. Hunter's Hill also outfitted The YARN with a tool library and furniture made from recycled materials.

Hunter's Hill, NSW develops a Capital Works Map to display the progress of public projects
The Capital Works Map is built on an interactive platform from Social Pinpoint. Map users see color-coded tags for upcoming, on-track, and completed projects in the council. Each tag contains a description of the work along with its rationale. Council staffers include photos of completed projects to showcase public project successes. An Activity tab shows the most recently updated tags on the map.
