Huntington Beach, CA Be Well OC Partnership Crisis Response

Be Well OC in Huntington Beach began with a team of two counselors responding to non-emergency calls 12 hours a day. Local dispatchers send the mobile response vehicle to situations ranging from substance abuse to welfare checks. Huntington Beach will expand to 24-hour coverage with a second response team by early 2022. This program diverts up to 60 calls per day from police responsibility while improving living situations for at-risk residents.
