Ipswich, QLD conducts research on urban heat islands with climate sensor network

Ipswich, QLD Urban Heat Island Climate Sensor Network

In Progress

Ipswich stationed 13 sensors across two locations in the Central Business District and one location in Ripley. Sensor data on temperature and humidity are monitored by project partners at Griffith University and the University of the Sunshine Coast. An engagement website for the project includes explainers on urban heat effects and a survey about resident experiences in test areas. The pilot will last up to one year with results informing sustainable design efforts.
