King, CA installed an extensive camera system to reduce youth violence
King was experiencing an uptick in youth violence in the city and in order to combat it the city installed over 100 cameras throughout the city. The camera system would help police identify criminals who were coming in from out of town to commit violent crimes.

The city has been recognized for their efforts in reducing youth violence. Shootings in the city dropped from 32 in 2017 to 0 in 2018. Assaults decreased by 30%, burglaries by 27%, and car thefts by 26%.
